How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-made for your teeth. These aligners gradually and gently shift your teeth into the desired position over time. You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before progressing to the next set.

Is Invisalign as effective as traditional braces?

Invisalign is effective for treating a variety of orthodontic issues, including crowding, spacing, and misalignment. However, the effectiveness depends on the complexity of the case. Severe orthodontic problems may still require traditional braces.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The duration of Invisalign treatment varies depending on the individual case. On average, it may take about 12 to 18 months, but this can be shorter or longer based on the specific alignment issues and how consistently the aligners are worn.

Can I remove the Invisalign aligners?

For optimal results, Invisalign aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking (except water), brushing, and flossing. Compliance with the recommended wear time is crucial for the success of the treatment.

Are there any dietary restrictions with Invisalign?

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners can be removed during meals, allowing patients to eat their favorite foods without restrictions. However, it’s important to brush and floss before putting the aligners back in to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent staining.
